Why it is risky
Raw potatoes, green potatoes and potato sprouts contain solanine, which can make dogs unwell. Cooking plain potato makes it safe in small amounts. Chips, roast potatoes and mash are usually high in fat and salt.
Safe portion
A spoonful of plain boiled or baked potato, peeled, as an occasional extra.

After eating raw or green potato or potato plants: vomiting, diarrhoea, drooling, weakness or confusion. Contact your vet.
