Why it is safe
Swede is a root brassica, rich in vitamin C, potassium and soluble fibre. Cooked and mashed or diced, it's easy to digest and useful as a low-calorie topper for dogs on a weight plan. Raw swede is very hard and a choking risk, and like other brassicas it can cause gas if fed in large amounts.
Safe portion
A tablespoon of cooked plain swede for small dogs, up to 2–3 tablespoons for large dogs — no butter, salt, or seasoning.
