Editorial Policy
The standards we are building Well Fed Paws to operate by.
Pre-launch policy statement
Well Fed Paws is in early development. The standards below describe how we intend to operate as soon as named veterinary contributors are confirmed. Until then, content on this site should be treated as draft educational material — not as vet-reviewed advice for an individual animal.
Intended review process
Every article will be written by a veterinary or qualified pet-health writer and reviewed by a licensed veterinarian before publication. Reviewers will verify factual accuracy, currency of recommendations, and alignment with consensus veterinary guidance.
Citation standards
We aim to cite primary peer-reviewed literature wherever possible — including AAFCO and FEDIAF nutrient profiles, JAVMA, Veterinary Clinics of North America, and similar journals. Guideline-level statements should link back to their original source.
Independence policy
Well Fed Paws will not accept payment from pet-food brands for editorial content, and will not place affiliate links inside guides. Any sponsored material, when it appears, will be clearly labelled as such.
Corrections
If you spot an error, please tell us via the contact page. Verified corrections are made promptly and the page footer is updated to reflect the change.
Scope of advice
Our content is educational guidance, not veterinary advice for an individual animal. Always consult your own veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment decisions.
