Why vets recommend Chappie for upset stomachs

Chappie Original is fish-and-rice based, low in fat, and highly digestible. That combination is very close to a classic bland "chicken and rice" recovery diet, which is why UK vets often suggest it after diarrhoea or vomiting. It is inexpensive, easy to find in supermarkets, and consistent between tins.

It is not a long-term nutritional showcase — protein levels are modest and ingredient quality is basic — but as a "get through the next 5 days" food, Chappie has earned its reputation.

Who Chappie is not for

  • Puppies under 12 months — use a growth-formulated food.
  • Pregnant or lactating bitches — higher-calorie, higher-protein diet needed.
  • Working or highly active dogs on very demanding days — the calorie density is too low.
