Why it is risky
Many dogs don't digest the lactose in milk well, and ice cream is high in sugar and fat. Chocolate, coffee, raisin (rum and raisin) and some sugar-free ice creams containing xylitol are dangerous. Dog ice creams are made without these ingredients.
Safe portion
Best avoided. A lick of plain vanilla is unlikely to cause harm to most dogs.
